This tool helps you choose the right AWS region for your latency needs.
When choosing the right AWS region for your workload, you should consider several factors, including recovery time objectives, compute costs, feature availability, local laws, and latency to the end-user.
For the latter, I’ve started building a small tool to help you determine the region with the best round-trip latency to your browser.
The latency meter requests the regional Amazon DynamoDB endpoints for all regions from your browser and measures the time it takes to receive the response. The absolute metric can be affected by several factors, but it provides an indication of which region might be the best fit in terms of round-trip latency compared to other regions.
